D12.82 Driver Warning System Test Results / MAPS&ADAS
MAPS&ADAS
Public document
Executive Summary This document describes the tests which were carried out in the work package 12.820 of the MAPS&ADAS project to assess the technical validity of the Driver Warning System. In general the definitions of the related validation plan were followed, but minor deviations were necessary to meet the concerns of the implementations.
The tests were divided in test for the Speed Limit Warning, the Hot Spot Warning and the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) map. The goal was to test all aspects of the Driver Warning System with respect to its specifications and to ensure that all parts of the system behave as they are expected. Tools were developed to allow for the tests, which are:
- a Geographic Data File (GDF) based speed limit visualiser to show the speed limits in the GDF map database. With this tool an analysis of the GDF map database contents was conducted by a validation team driving on the dedicated test track and comparing map content with reality,
- a Geo Information System (GIS) based tool to visualise the Hot Spots on the base of an ESRI shapefile compiled from the GDF data base. The Hot Spots in the GDF data base were compared with the initial Hot Spots defined in a spread sheet format.
- an ADAS Horizon visualiser, which gives a graphical representation of the ADAS Horizon which was sent by the CAN bus and received by the ADAS Horizon Receiver. This track preview is then sent to the applications.
