One of the more ambitious plans to emerge from the European Commission in recent years is expected to result in a substantial reduction in the number of people killed or seriously injured on European roads and help achieve the EU's target of a 50% reduction in accidents by 2010. PREVENT IP (PREVENTIVE AND Active Safety Applications - Integrated Project) was launched to great fanfare at the beginning of February.
