Abstract:
Predictive Safety Systems are intending to increase the safety of all road users by mitigating or avoiding collisions. This paper discusses different radar sensors and their combination which are suitable to adapt restraints for predictive safety systems in a most effective way. Sensors which have been considered are the most relevant ones for high volume market penetration: long range radar and short range radar sensors. The sensors have been evaluated for different functions, like Pre-set, Pre-fire and Collision Mitigation
