One major use of vehicular ad hoc networks is the distribution of traffic related information. For a scalable and robust system, it is crucial to evaluate the content at every forwarding node. But successful evaluation of information depends on a number of aspects, which are discussed in this paper. It explains how detection and distribution of traffic related information is affected and points out the implications on system design.
