First of all, MAPS&ADAS Consortium is pleased to welcome BOSCH as a new member of the consortium. Their contribution has started in August 2005 and will be focussed on Driver Warning System activities until the end of the subproject by January 2007.
In parallel to internal developments, MAPS&ADAS is playing very actively is horizontal role by providing support to PReVENT Vertical SubProjects (VSP) that will implement the ADAS-Interface in the next months.
A VSP support meeting took place in Greece on 7 September with representatives of SASPENCE, LATERAL SAFE and SAFELANE to follow-up implementation activities and test site maps production. An another meeting was also organised in Gothenburg at VTEC on 20 September with INSAFES consortium to explore potential cooperation between the two PReVENT subprojects.
Regarding ADAS maps, an inventory survey is carried out by map providers (Tele Atlas and NAVTEQ) to evaluate the availability by public authorities of ADAS attributes to be integrated into maps.
Concerning the crucial issue of safety attributes availability, provision and update, the MAPS&ADAS Public Authorities Consultation Platform met on 29 September to review the list of safety attributes identified from in-vehicle map-based safety applications with regards to public authorities' priorities.
