First tests of the SASPENCE system
The SASPENCE system is designed to aid the driver in avoiding accidents related to excessive speed and/or too small headway. A first prototype has been tested in the driving simulator of PSA Peugeot-Citroën (Vélizy, France). To evaluate the performances of the system and its interactions with the driver, 34 naïve drivers tested the system in representative driving scenarios. Along the trials different visual, auditory and haptic HMIs were systematically evaluated under dynamic conditions. Preliminary test results will be available at the end of May.
