MAPS&ADAS - SafeMap Joint Final Workshop 1st February 2007, Paris
From Navigation to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), how digital maps can contribute to road safety
Based on the success of onboard navigation systems, the use of digital maps can be extended by considering them as a predictive sensor called ADAS Horizon to enable and/or enhance ADAS applications for safer road transport. This joint workshop is a major opportunity for key actors from public sector (public and road od authorities), industry sector (vehicle manufacturers, system suppliers, map providers and service providers) and research organisations to learn from the results of IP PReVENT MAPS&ADAS and SafeMap projects and then to exchange views on open issues including the provision and maintenance of safety attributes.
