Meeting between Vertical Subproject and MAPS&ADAS
On June 15th in Orbassano (Torino), Centro Ricerche FIAT (CRF) hosted a meeting between MAPS&ADAS and Vertical Sub-Projects (VSP) that are using the maps system provided by MAPS&ADAS, i.e. SASPENCE, LATERAL SAFE, and SAFELANE. 19 people attended the meeting as representatives of MAPS&ADAS, VSP, and also AIDE.
The goal of the meeting was to define the interfaces between the MAPS&ADAS system, which is providing the description of the road derived from the digital map (electronic horizon), and the application software where the driver assistance application is implemented. Another goal of the meeting was to define the map attributes that are requested from the VSP and the test tracks that will be used for the test and demonstration of the systems.
During the meeting, alle these aspects were discussed: the kind of interface was defined between each VSP and the MAPS&ADAS system, a list of requested road attributes and the test tracks was also defined. Now the map providers will have to give an answer about which attributes can actually be collected on the defined test tracks in Torino, Gothenburg and Valladolid.
On the other side, the VSP will estimate the extra effort required for the implementation of the SW interface that receives the data provided from the MAPS&ADAS system and reconstructs the electronic horizon in the memory of the application software.
This information will be included in the agreement between MAPS&ADAS and VSP, to be finalised in the beginning of July.
