INSAFES
INSAFES is developing new control functions to improve the functionality of applications developed in the IP PReVENT Phase 1.

INSAFES is monitoring the area around the vehicle, developing and/or improving a wide range of functions: from pre-crash and collision mitigation, all-around collision warning to safe speed and safe distance functions.
Through the modular integration of several functions, the INSAFES system aims to bring added-value to the end user, showing that high functionality can be achieved at a lower price.
The general goal of INSAFES is to improve the functionality and reliability of applications developed within IP PReVENT, and to advance from stand-alone safety applications targeting one specific function to an integrated system covering a vast range of applications. This priority of INSAFES focuses on the full coverage of the area around the vehicle, in order to warn the driver, intervene or mitigate the effects of an accident.
INSAFES aims to allow the extension of the operative scenarios of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems beyond their current limits to enable a considerable step forward in the actual development and implementation of data synthesis technics.

Application of Results
INSAFES will develop three demonstrator vehicles to show its concept:
-
Demonstrator 1: (function demonstrator) a passenger car showing the benefits of all-around scenario reconstruction and integrated longitudinal support
-
Demonstrator 2: (function demonstrator) a truck concentrating on improved lateral support and functions related to the truck driver’s limited field of view
-
Demonstrator 3: an HMI concept car used for assessment of different HMI solutions
The diagram below illustrates the functions to be integrated in the two function demonstrators.

APALACI: Integration of pre-crash and collision mitigation functions LATERAL SAFE: Integration of lateral support functions SASPENCE: Integration of safe speed and safe distance functions SAFELANE: Integration of lane keeping support functions WILLWARN: Integration of early danger warning though communication MAPS&ADAS: Use of map data and ADAS interface ProFusion2: Use of perception data fusion methods and concepts
PReVAL: Use of PReVAL guidelines/recommendations in the validation phase.
Feedback to PReVAL on applicability and ease of use.
