Intersection Safety Applications

Active and cooperative safety applications dedicated to turning and crossing at intersections have attracted increasing attention throughout the project. From concept to reality, PReVENT has realised innovative approaches to enhance intersection safety for three of the most relevant intersection accident scenarios.

Two cars showing centimetre-accurate position within the intersection and detecting of other road users. Wireless car-to-infrastructure communication providing traffic light status. In combination with recommendations for relaxed driving, drivers are warned visually and acoustically to reduce fatal accidents.
