Technical Abstract
The MAPS&ADAS subproject within the EC PReVENT Integrated Project seeks to standardise the interface from navigation systems or general positioning and map systems towards advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that make use of map data (e.g., for track preview purposes). Sub-Workpackage 12.320 deals with the functional architecture necessary to furnish data to that interface. In order to be able to satisfy the needs of ADAS-Applications this document states the functional requirements as imposed from various ADAS-Applications to such an interface.
From these Requirements and a compilation of some limiting constraints typical for most ADAS-Applications, an architecture proposal including definitions for logical data structure and data flux is presented.
