Executive Summary
This ‘Compendium on Sensors’, together with the ‘Sensor Data Sheets’ and the ‘Compendium on Sensors’, analyses the state-of-the-art related to sensor technologies and sensor data fusion techniques used for perception systems in PReVENT and throughout the whole Preventive Safety Community.
ProFusion sent out several questionnaires to partners having great expertise on these fields, and additionally, ProFusion held several workshops dealing with sensors and sensor data fusion concepts, to identify the current state-of-the-art. A framework for sensor data fusion or, to be more general, for perception systems has been proposed and agreed on during one of these workshops.
The whole information collected, as regards to the state-of-the-art, has been analysed and complemented and is now being fed back to the Preventive Safety Community in this ‘Compendium’. Some data sheets of sensors offered on the market today for perception systems in driver assistance systems are presented in [prosds: 04].
