D22.61 System Integration
WILLWARN aims to avoid accidents caused by late recognition of road hazards such as reduced friction, obstacles on the road, reduced visibility and fixed hazards, e.g., construction sites. Foresighted driving and early driver warning is a key for safe driving and accident avoidance. WILLWARN extends the horizon of the driver beyond the visual limits. In this way drivers are enabled to adapt to road hazards long before they actually see them. Following the situational awareness of potential unforeseen dangers is increased while the risk for accidents is drastically decreased.
The WILLWARN project will not only present a system design in various deliverables, but also the integration to vehicles of the different partners that can communicate with each other. This document will provide an overview about the demonstrator cars and the beacon for constructions sites. Developed modules
and functions will be described.
